Malang Jassey, alias Uncle, is among young aspiring and vibrant players in the 2012 Gunjur Nawetan.

His dribbling skills, movement, and goal-scoring quality are absolutely fascinating, catching the eyes of many teams in Gunjur.

Malang, who was born in Gunjur, started his career with Alet Sanchaba FC in the Gunjur Junior League at a tender age emerging as the team’s most outstanding player.

He made his debut in the Gunjur Senior Nawetan League in 2010 with Nyokoyorr FC as a substitute before joining Solifo Investment FC in the 2011 season where he had several vital goals and also provided numerous assisting-goal chances in recent games in the Gunjur Nawetan.

Malang, who operates well as a supporting striker, can also operate marvelously in either of the wings.

He has netted seven goals in both competitions this year, five coming from the league competition and two from the knockout battle.

His brilliant performance for Solifo Investment FC in last year’s Gunjur Nawetan caught the eyes of former Gunjur head coach Ousman Sanneh to call him to his squad for the 2011-12 Gambia Football Association (GFA) Second Division League. The boy’s exceptional performance in the league helped Kombo South outfit remain in the second tier.

Malang is currently part of the Gunjur zonal team bracing up for the 2012 GFA Super Nawetan Zonal Football Tournament set to commence on Sunday 2 December 2012.
