Principal's Trial Fails to Proceed

The trial Almameh Dukureh, the Principal of one boarding School at Old Yundum on Monday 15thDecember 2008 resumed at the Brikama Magistrates' Court. The matter could not proceed however as the Magistrate, Kayode, went for a meeting at Banjul.

The police prosecutor and the court clerk, Modou Manneh, adjourned the matter to the 29thDecember 2008.

It will be recalled that the accused, Almameh Dukureh, the Principal of a boarding School earlier this year at the School is accused of having engaged in indecent practice with a student. When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

In another Development the trail involving Momodou K. Darboe could also not proceed due to the fact that the Magistrate, Pa Harry Jammeh, also went for a meeting at the Banjul court clerks. Musa Forfana and this prosecutor Camara adjourned the matter 29thDecember 2008.

It will be called that the accused Momodou K. Darboe early this year defrauded and obtained the sum of D60, 000 from Ebrima Keita, Momodou S. Jallow and Modou Jallow by claiming to help them to travel for the international scout Jamboree in Denmark which was false, he pleaded not guilty.
