The first special working session for the year 2013 by sectors under the purview of the Office of the President was yesterday held at State House in Banjul.

The meeting addressed by President Yahya Jammeh, brought together sectors namely, Personnel Management Office, Office of the Vice President, Defence, Geological Department, NGO Affairs Agency, Gambia Ports Authority, Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation, National Aids Secretariat, and the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority.

Speaking to waiting reporters shortly after the closed door meeting, Mustapha Charles Camara, the new Minister of Presidential Affairs, said President Jammeh told them a lot about his vision for 2013.

“Because we all know we are not too far away from Vision 2020 and we need to redouble our efforts, look back to the last session in 2012 and see how best we can do better in 2012,” Camara told journalists.

Noting that it was a family discussion, Minister Camara said there is no turning back as they want to remove all bottlenecks that would deter them from attaining their vision.

“We want to make sure that we realize his vision, and this is why this meeting was called,” he said, adding that President Jammeh discussed lots of issues, which he wanted all sectors to address.

“We discussed the 2013 plans and strategies, and President Jammeh believes we should be more proactive in our plans, and the responses from the various sectors at the meeting were very positive,” Camara added.
