A two-day policy popularisation workshop ended over the weekend at Lebato Nature Camp in Sanyang village, Kombo South of the Western Region.
Organised by the Department of Forestry, and sponsored by Food and Agriculture and Organisation (FAO), the forum brought together 35 participants with a view to present them with new national forestry policy framework and provide relevant information to various stakeholders.
In declaring the workshop open, the Director of Forestry Department, Abdoulie A. Sanneh said the policy popularisation workshop was among others, aimed at equipping participants with skills in protecting the flora and the fauna.
Sanneh urged the participants to take the workshop seriously and make the best use of the knowledge gained from the programme.
Also speaking earlier, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Forestry and Environment, Kebba A. Sonko, said the policy popularisation workshop is organised under the auspices of the Department of Forestry through Technical Co-operation Programme Project (TCP) of the FAO.
