The trial of Mr Pap Saine Co-publisher and Managing Editor of the Point Newspaper is expected to resume today at the Banjul Magistrates' Court and Kanifing Magistrates' Court respectively.
Mr Pap Saine is standing trial on two separate charges of false publication and broadcasting and two counts of obtaining registration by false pretence and obtaining Gambian passport by false declaration. He had since denied the charges.

Count 1, the alleged offence disclosed that Pap Saine some time in the year 1994 in the city of Banjul knowing to be a non citizen of the Gambia unlawfully procure and obtained a Gambian birth certificate No:
While on count 2, the particulars of the alleged offence revealed that Pap Saine on or about the 21st May 2007 at the Immigration Headquarter in the city of Banjul by false declaration obtained a Gambian passport No PC 183902 for himself thereby committed an offence.
Meanwhile at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court Mr Pap Saine is charged with false publication and broadcasting.
