Pa Mambuna Bojang, a Gunjurian and former player of YSB FC residing in the United States of America, Sunday donated football items to Gunjur Community Football Academy.

The items included footballs, football boots, jerseys and T-shirts.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field, Hatab Jobe, co-founders of Gunjur Community Football Academy, said the donation was part of Mambuna’s contribution towards the development of football in Gunjur.

Jobe challenged players of the Academy to take football seriously and be always punctual at training.

The head coach of Gunjur Community Football Academy, Bubacarr Kakai Bojang, said the donated items were given to players who were punctual at training, adding that some of the players “are not serious with training”.

Coach Bojang appealed to the players to take football seriously and always attend training.

For his part, Buba Bada Bojang, former president of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA), tasked the players to take their training seriously.

Bojang challenged them to be serious with training and emulate former Commit FC and Brikama United striker Bakary Daffeh AKA Kano, who is currently plying his trade with the Senegalese Premier League side Cassa Sport.
