Odense BK players and team coach returned to the training track in the valley to prepare for an exciting autumn ahead of Danish Super League and European football competitions.
The 2009/10 Danish vice champions who finished on 59 points and 9 points behind leaders FC Copenhagen will open the season at the TRE-FOR Park on Saturday 17 July against Esbjerg FB.
Gambian attacker Njodu Demba and OB have other tough matches such as their second home league clash against Randers on July 26th.
Another crunch game will be an away clash against AC Horsens on August 2nd before playing host to last season's champions FC Copenhagen on August 8.
After returning from their summer holiday and gathered for their first training this week, OB players were in a happy mood despite knowing the fact that they have a huge task as well in the Europe League championship. Eric Djemba Djemba is one of the players pleased to be back with teammates.
Head coach Lars Olsen looks forward to the season's first workout, and has already set the program ready for the first week.
"We look much on the physical at the beginning. It's always exciting to see how the players' form is when they come back from vacation. Therefore, we test them thoroughly, so we know how much time we spend on the sharp training before we can throw ourselves into the ball game," says Lars Olsen, who has already began to think a little toward the first serious battle.
"Well, somehow I think we are on the battle already. Of course, it becomes more intense when we get closer, but we have already made plans for the season, so it will be exciting to get started."
A new season is always the chance for a fresh start, so there is a special atmosphere in the group, said Lars Olsen, who welcomed key player Peter Utaka who was away with the Nigerian national team, while others were on vacation.
