A new solar borehole project sponsored by Dominion Faith Centre, Charismatic Renewal Ministry and Mission Africa-The Gambia, in collaboration with Jesus House Hope Foundation in Baltimore, USA, was recently inaugurated in Fulakunda village in Kombo Central District of the West Coast Region.

In his inaugural statement on behalf of the regional governor, the chairman of Brikama Area Council, Bakary Saibo Sanneh, highlighted the importance of the project, worth about D250,000, saying the provision of water for the community falls under the responsibility of the council.

He said he was delighted about the provision of water for the community, adding that it will enable them to have access to clean and safe drinking water while stressing that water is life.

The Head of Mission, Anthony Chibuaeze, said that as an organization they are very much concerned about the welfare of the community, adding that their vision is to help more communities in the country with water project similar to the one in Fulakunda.

He expressed gratitude to the Government of The Gambia through President Jammeh for “creating an enabling environment” for faith-based charities to operate in the country.

The inauguration was attended by Pastors from various denominations and a cross-section of the community of Fulakunda village.

Pastor Robert of Fellowship Evangelical Students of The Gambia (Gamfes) chaired the occasion.
