Wonderland
Year Excellence (WYCE), an NGO based in Medina Salam village, in collaboration
with a UK-based charitable organisation recently inaugurated a classroom block
in WYCE Lower Basic School in Medina Salam village.
The
building, constructed to the tune of more than 16,000 British pound, is aimed
at making the school more conducive for the children.
Speaking
at the inauguration ceremony, the founder of the UK charitable organisation, Mr
Ian London, said his organisation and WYCE have been in partnership since 2010
to help the people of Medina Salam
He
said his organisation mainly helps needy school children in Medina Salam in the
area of education and health.
Alkalo
of Medina Salam, Sisawo Touray, thanked WYCE and their UK-based partner “for
their wonderful efforts towards helping the people of Medina Salam”.
He
said with the coming of WYCE to Medina Salam village, their difficulties,
especially in the areas of education and health, have been reduced.
The
village head said even though WYCE is doing all it can to help, they cannot do
everything.
He
called for government support particularly in the area of provision of potable
water and electricity.
