The Diasporan community of Pakalinding, mainly based in the United Kingdom, recently donated a community ambulance, a VW bus, to the village alkalo, Alhagie Buwa Kinteh, for use by the village.
In his handing over message, the president of Pakalinding development association Kombo branch, Lamin Sam Jaiteh, praised the sons and daughters of Pakalinding in the diaspora for their patriotism in supporting the transportation of patients to Soma Hospital, thereby alleviating hardship encountered by the sick, old and breas-feeding mothers as they struggle to reach the hospital.
He promised that the ambulance will be used as intended.
Alkalo Buwa Kinteh thanked the Pakalinding Development Association – UK for a wonderful vision. He also implored his villagers to work harder in complementing the efforts of the government, while acknowledging the giant steps taken by President Yahya Jammeh’s government in the development of health care delivery.
The regional public health nurse representative in Mansakonko, Juma Jallow, expressed his happiness about ambulance in the community.
He finally assured the community of his office’s full support at all times, and implore the Village Development Community to form an Ambulance Community as soon as possible, which will be liaising with their office on a regular basis .
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ansumana Faraba Kinteh, who thanked all those who made this possible.
He thanked the PDA-UK for their support to the community, and Seedy M.B. Kinteh for painting the ambulance and effecting other minor repairs on the vehicle.
He also thanked ABS Clinic through Seedy K. Ceesay for donating the stretcher.
