The
Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians
Abroad, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Friday December 27th paid a visit to the new
Foreign Ministry building under construction in Banjul. The building is located
at the entrance of Banjul, adjacent to Arch 22.
The
Minister was taken on a conducted tour of the building by Head of the
Construction team, Ms. Hanane SALIK. The Minister expressed satisfaction with
the quality and progress of work being carried out. He encouraged the team to
redouble their efforts to ensure that the project is completed as planned.
Work
at the site is at an advance stage as construction workers are busy doing the
final touches including tiling, electrification, painting, landscaping, doors,
windows and glass fixing among other finishing jobs.
The
three storey magnificent edifice contains offices, conference room, cafeteria
and parking space. When completed, it will rekindle the image of The Gambia as
a beacon of diplomacy.
