A man had
been handed down a 4-year-jail term for raping a 16-year-old girl by a
Samba Trawally, who pleaded guilty to the charge leveled against him, was sentenced to four years in prison without any option of a fine.
In passing the sentence, Magistrate Fred Foster told the court that the charge against the convict was a very serious one, adding that raping a 16-year-old girl without her consent is very dangerous.
According to the particulars of the offence, the convict on 24th July 2009, at Brikama Jalamba in Western Region raped a girl of 16 years of age without her consent.
