Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one
Cherno Jallow to a fine of D20,000 in default to serve eighteen months in
prison.
Cherno Jallow, who was found guilty of receiving stolen property, was also ordered to pay compensation of D55,000 to the complainant.
In his plea of mitigation, the convict told the court that this was his first time going to the police station, and he had never committed any crime or offence.
The charge sheet stated that on 19 February 2015, at Barthez in the Kanifing Municipality, he received from one Ebrima Sorry Barry D55,000.
