Man convicted for cattle theft

Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one Abdou Jeng to a fine of D7,000 in default to serve one year in prison.

Jeng, who was convicted for stealing a sheep, was also ordered to pay a compensation of D5,000.

The charge sheet read that on 25 December 2014, at Sanchaba in the Kanifing Municipality, he stole one sheep valued at D7,000 being the property of one Ebrima Hali.
