Man arraigned for alleged impersonation

A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Babucarr Secka of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with impersonating a public officer.

Konji Camara, who pleaded not guilty of the charge, was subsequently granted bail of D10,000 with a Gambian surety.

The particulars of the offence stated that on 1 March 2011, at Brikama West Coast Region, the accused, Konji Camara, falsely represented himself as a police Inspector from the Gambia Police Force, in the compound of one Anthony Gomez, asking people to produce their documents.

The case was then adjourned until 9 March 2011.
