Luzan FC has been relegated in the ongoing Serrekunda West Nawettan proper, following their goaless draw with Blackpool FC last Saturday 12 September 2009, at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
Luzan FC who only managed two draws in four games came all out for a victory in their final encounter to maintain their position in the ongoing Serrekunda West Nawettan proper. Luzan FC mounted pressure on Blackpool FC's defence line and created numerous scoring opportunities infront of Blackpool FC goal mouth, but Blackpool FC who only needed a point to avoid relegation defended well and the game ended 0-0.
Luzan FC collected 3 points from 5 games, while Blackpool FC collected 4 points from 5 encounters.
Speaking to the Head Coach of Luzan FC Badou Ceesay, shortly after the game he said his boys played very well, but luck was not on their side. According to him, finishing was a contributing factor that led to their draw.
Head Coach Ceesay further revealed that they will now prepare for the knock-out championship, and for next year's qualify round to secure back their position in the Serrekunda West Nawettan league.
Also, speaking was Alpha Omar Sanyang one of the coaches for Blackpool FC who stated that the game was a do-or-die game, because they needed at least a point to avoid relegation. He also revealed that they also came to defend the game could not to concede any goal.
He further thanked Blackpool FC fans for their support during the Nawettan proper and urged them to continue their support because most of the players from the team are still very young and can produce wonderful results in the near future.
