The opening game of the 2012-2013 Kombo South district football has been re-scheduled for Saturday 10th November 2012 according sources reaching Pointsport.

The opening game will feature the defending Sifoe and Kartong at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field. The opening game has been described by many football fans in the district as a mouth-watering clash.

The tournament was expected to get under way this Saturday 3rd November 2012, but due some eventualities, the committee decided to re-schedule the opening game.

Sifoe emerged the winners of last year’s edition without kicking a ball after their opponents Sanyang failed to turn up for the final, the reasons best known to them and were suspended from two district tournaments.

They will be hoping for a win in order to stand a better chance of reaching the next round of the competition, and also keep their hopes of defending last year’s Kombo South district tournament title crown.

Kartong, on the other hand, have never won the Kombo South district tournament title before, and they lost to  Sanyang 2-0 in the 2000 edition, and also to Farato on penalties in the 2008 edition; but were eliminated in the group stage last season.
