The Magistrates' court in Brikama in the Western Region on Monday 28th June 2010 issued a subpoena against the head chief of Kombo South, Sheriff Ajai Janneh, and Hon. Paul Mendy, National Assembly member for Kombo South constituency.
The subpoena against the two public officials came following the application made by the police prosecutor, Inspector Fadera, to bring them to court as prosecution witnesses to testify in the trial of one Karafa Sanneh, who was charged with giving false information to a public officer.
Principal Magistrate J. A Effim consequently granted the prosecution's application without any objection by the defence counsel.
The case was subsequently adjourned to 14th July 2010.
It would be recalled that it was alleged that the accused person, Karafa Sanneh, former Sifoe Farm Manager, sometime in the months of October and November 2008 gave false information to the Alkalolu of Seyone and Bajiran villages, when he said that the President of the Republic, said he did not want their 10 bags of coos and 49 bags of rice, knowing such information was false.
Mr. Sanneh denied the charge.
