KEYCDA appoints 6 youth to advance youth, children development

The Management Board of Kombo East Youth and Children Development Alliance (KEYCDA) Sunday appoints 6 youth to be part of the Alliance’s Secretariat. The appointments are part of management board plans to reposition and develop new strategies for new innovation.

Lamin Jammeh  is appointed as Executive Secretary, Dawda Bah as Programs Manager, Sulayman Darboe  as Assistance Programs Officer, Ba - Saikou Saidy as Child Protection Coordinator , Fanta Darboe as Gender Focal Person and Abdoulie Njie as Media and Communication Officer.

Chairperson of the KEYCDA management board, Dembo Kuyateh challenged the youth to work as a team and come up with new innovations as the new strategy will be focusing on partnership, entrepreneurship, Gender main streaming, child protection and sport development among others.

Kombo East Youth and Children Development Alliance (KEYCDA) is the umbrella body of all youth and children affairs in Kombo East and the first District youth and children body in The Gambia. It was found in 2005 to advance youth empowerment, children protection, sports development, environmental protection and the overall development of Kombo East.

Mr. Kuyateh assured the appointees of his committee’s highest support, promising that they will always try to provide them with all the necessary tools for them to carry out their work in the most effective and efficient manner.

He thanked the Alliance’s General Assembly for entrusting him and the team to carry the responsibilities of the Youth and Children of the District.

Omar Bah, former Board chairperson thanked the appointees for accepting the offer and advised them to remain focused and do their job as expected.

“KEYCDA was established by the Youth and Children of this district and their priorities should continue to be our business and concern. We are more than willing to give you all the necessary support you may need as far as the priorities and the needs of the Alliance remain your concern,” he stressed.

Mr. Bah wished the new appointees a successful tenure in office and urged them to remain as professionals as far the work ethics of the Alliance are concerned.

The newly appointed Executive Secretary Lamin Jammeh, thanked the General Assembly and Management Board for their appointments, assuring that business shall no more be as usual. “Based on the trust and confidence given to us as the Management Board, we shall continue to add value and create a positive impact on the lives of the people we are serving,” he emphasised.

Ousman Baba Galleh Bah, chairperson of KEYCDA Credit Union also thanked the young people for their readiness to push the agenda. He advised the young people to continue perusing for their higher education and given back to the society.
