Young and upcoming musician Jay Dam, aka Honourable, has been working very hard to take the Gambia music to higher heights by releasing 7 singles that are going on promotion to various radio stations in the country.
Right now, aka Honourable is busy putting finishing touches to release his first album provided he got some support.
In a chat with Entertainment recently at Starling Recording Studio in Manjai, Jay Dam said he started singing since 2008.
“My first recording was done at Yagana World Production and my first single was promoted by DJ Fireman and from there I started doing recording at different studios.
The first thing that attracted me to music is the urge to uplift the people in terms of education as well as to bring positive message to the people.
Aka Honorable last year embarked on a tour with Egalitarian and many other artistes to promote their music.
He added that the main reason the Gambian music is struggling to go forward is because of lack of copyright law to protect music in the country.
He therefore called on young musicians to work hard in order to promote their music. “Music is all about love feeling,” he says.
