Jalisut
Beekeeping Centre was on Sunday 29 March 2015 inaugurated in Gunjur, Kombo
South of West Coast Region.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held in Gunjur, the Director General of Jalisut Beekeeping Centre, Sulayman Manjang, said the beekeeping centre was established in 2009 and registered with the Attorney’s Chambers in 2011.
Manjang revealed that they had started producing the product in 2013, adding that it was very difficult for him to catch bees.
According to Manjang, Jalisut Beekeeping Centre is a self-sponsored project hence he is looking forward to more support to further expansion.
Phoebe Studdert, a volunteer from Marlborough in the United Kingdom, who is teaching at Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary School, said they supported Sulayman to establish the centre, noting that they would continue helping him to develop the centre.
