Sandefjord is sitting within the promotion playoffs position, and is tasked to fight for a comeback into the Norwegian top league.

Sandefjord lost 1-0 to Hodd on Sunday with Tijan Jaiteh receiving a yellow card, marking his 7th card this season in the Norwegian second highest league.

Jaiteh played 26 matches scoring two goals for Sandefjord so far this season. He was later substituted in Sunday’s crucial game, which could have given his side the opportunity to close on leaders Start and second place Sarpsborg 08 who are far ahead, soccerway has revealed.

With one more game to play against Baerum on Sunday November 11, a win for Sandefjordwill have them to settle for third as the two top teams have firmly grabbed their positions ahead, and the results will not affect them at all.

Last season, they finished 3rd with 54 points, and as things stand they are holding the same record, and Sunday’s win will be an added move for them to help them settle on 57 points.

In the higher league, Muhammed Keita’s Stromsgodset is chasing leaders Mold who are heading with a single point on 56 points. Their 2-1 win over Rosenborg over the weekend boosted their chances of making it to the top, but Rosenborg is also trailing them with 3 points between them.
