The Interim Management Committees
of the Local Government Councils are to cease operations and henceforth
dissolve by Tuesday 24th April 2013, the Ministry for Regional Government and
Lands announced yesterday.
A media dispatch issued by the Ministry said this is in line with the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002 as amended.
‘The Ministry and by extension the Government of The Gambia wish to thank all those distinguished persons who served as members/chairpersons of the Interim Management Committees for their invaluable services rendered,’ the release added.
