Inter Academy Tourney underway

Football Link Gambia's inter-academy football tournament is currently underway in Medina Salaam Village, Kombo South District.

Football Link Gambia is a charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom (UK).

The tournament is aimed at promoting community and grassroots football in The Gambia.

Four Academies, namely Madina Salaam Community Football Academy, Gunjur Community Football Academy, Black & White Football Academy of Berending village and Kartong Community Football Academy are vying for the title.

Gunjur Community Football Academy U-13 team thrashed the host Madina Salaam Community Football Academy U-13 team 2-0 in the opening game on Saturday.

Their goals came courtesy of a brace from Saikou Manneh Sefty in the 15th and 44th minutes.

Meanwhile, in the U-15 category, Madina Salaam Community Football Academy’s U-15 lost to Gunjur Community Football Academy U-15 team 1-0 the same day.

Gunjur Community Football Academy U-15 team’s only goal of the game was registered by Ousman Bojang, alias Robinho, in the 25th minute of the game thanks to a superb strike.
