In Double Murder Case

Defence Counsel Indisposed

The alleged double murder case involving Amadou Jarra yesterday failed to proceed before the Special Criminal Court Division of the High Court.

The case that was scheduled for continuation of the testimony of the prosecution witnesses could not proceed, as the Defence Counsel was reported to be indisposed.

The 23-year-old Amadou Jarra, a Malian national is stranding trial before Justice Moses Richard of the Special Criminal Court for allegedly murdering two women at Kerewan Village in the North Bank Region.

Count one, the particulars of the alleged offence stated that, the accused Amadou Jarra on 2nd March 2009, at Kerewan Village in the North Bank Region murdered one Nyimasata Ceesay by stabbing her with a knife.

While in count two, the alleged offence stated that, the accused Amadou Jarra on 2nd March 2009, at Kerewan Village in the North Bank Region murdered one Kinty Fatty by stabbing her with a knife.

The case was adjourned to 9th September 2009.
