Imam Ousman Jah appointed Amirul Hajj

According to reliable sources reaching The Point, Imam Ousman Jah has been appointed the new Amirul Hajj.

When contacted, Imam Jah confirmed his appointment and said: “I thank the Almighty Allah and H.E. the President of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia Alhaji Dr Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh for the trust and confidence he has bestowed on me. I am very proud to be one of the servants of this great nation through this sacred duty.”

Imam Jah is a renowned Islamic scholar who does weekly talks at GRTS TV and Capital FM Radio. He is also an Islamic columnist at The Point newspaper.

Imam Jah, who studied Islamic Law in Saudi Arabia, was once appointed Amirul Hajj.

Imam Jah is currently a member of the Cadi Appeals Panel at the Banjul High Court.

He is also the Imam of TAQWU Mosque on Bertil Harding Highway, Bakau.

He has replaced Dr Mbye Kah.
