Borry Colley, National Assembly Member for Foni Jarrol constituency and desk officer for West Coast Region, was expelled by the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction, APRC, after the party said in a statement earlier this month that it ‘‘will never entertain members that do not have the interest of the country at heart or indulge in acts inimical to the interest of The Gambia.’’
In a press release issued yesterday, the IEC said the bye-election, slated for Thursday 9th January 2014, was necessitated by the expulsion of the erstwhile National Assembly Member of Foni Jarrol from the APRC party, in whose ticket he was elected to the National Assembly.
