A group known as the Gunjur Students’ Association has been formed, to support students in the community as well as foster unity and understanding among them.
Bajaw Jammeh, a senior teacher at Nusrat Senior Secondary School, on Saturday presided over the launching of the newly formed Gunjur Students Association.
The launching ceremony was held at the Gunjur Upper Basic School, West Coast Region.
In his statement, Mr Jammeh applauded the students for coming up with the idea of forming an association, saying such an initiative gives support to helping one another.
He challenged members of the association to be committed and work hard to achieve their objectives.
“As you know that it is not easy to form an association, but with commitment and hard work you will be able to achieve your dreams and aspirations,” Mr Jammeh said.
Speaking earlier, the president of Gunjur Students Association, Benjamin Gomez, appealed to members of the association to be committed and to always work towards the development of the group. He hailed the launcher, Jammeh, and all those who attended the event.
Speaking on behalf of Gunjur Upper Basic School Principal Buba Janneh, Mr Jammeh thanked the students for the initiative.
He expressed hope that the new association would go a long way in supporting students in their school career.
