Gunjur Sports Committee has slammed a 2-year ban with a fine of D3,000 on reigning league and Super Cup champions Santos FC.
The Santos-based outfit were banned and fined for their misconduct after their 2-1 defeat against Red Stars FC in the 2015 Gunjur Knockout semifinal game played at the Gunjur Nyamina football field a fortnight ago.
Omar Darboe Kebbeh, Lamin Darboe Torres, Malang Dahaba, Mbemba Kuyateh and Bakary S. Touray were banned for two years following their misconduct after Santos FC’s 2-1 knockout semi-final defeat to Red Stars.
Ousainou Janneh Alves and Foday Touray were also banned two years after using bad language against Gunjur Sports Committee on social media Facebook.
The names and pictures of the seven Santos FC suspended players will be sent to all major nawettan zones, the committee stated.
In a similar development, Gunjur Sports Committee has fined World Eleven FC D3,000 for throwing sand and using abusive language against match officials after their 1-0 defeat to Passamai in the 2015 Gunjur knockout semi-final a fortnight ago.
World Eleven are urged to pay their fine on or before 31 October 2015, failure to pay shall lead to a two-year suspension from Gunjur Nawettan.
Gunjur Sports Committee has also banned World Eleven FC’s Dembo Bojang for one year for seizing the committee’s ball after a knockout semifinal defeat to Passamai.
