The Gambia National Olympic Committee Extra-Ordinary Session is billed for 16 October 2010 at the GNOC Resource Centre.
The session will witness the election of the GNOC President. A notice has been sent to all national sports associations for the nomination of candidates for election to the position of GNOC President with effect from 20 September 2010.
According to the GNOC, all nominations should be signed by either the secretary general or president of the National Sports Association, addressed and sent to the National Olympic House not later than 12.00 noon on 2 October 2010.
Each nominating National Sports Association is only entitled to a nominee. Twenty-five national associations are expected to take part in this crucial nomination and election of the GNOC Presidency in replacement of former leader Lang Tombong Tamba.
