The Gambia National Lottery (GNL) at the weekend gave D30, 000 to lucky winners of its monthly instant raffle at its branch office in Serrekunda.
During the raffle draw, two customers including one Bai Cham, a driver at old Jeshwang, emerged winners of the highest prizes of the GNL draw.
The prizes were won in different categories ranging from five hundreds dalasi, to one thousand, three thousand and five thousand dalasi.
However 12 customers won the five hundred dalasi prizes, five won the one thousand dalasi prizes, three the three thousand dalasi prizes and two the five thousand dalasi prizes.
The presentation held at the Serrekunda GNL Branch Office, was well attended by customers of the lottery office.
In receiving the highest prize, which was the five thousand dalasi, Bai Cham, one of the winners told reporters that he had been playing the game for good a number of years but had hardly won.
“This time around it came to me as a surprise when I received a phone call from the Gambia National Lottery official that I am the lucky winner of the highest prize of five thousands dalasi,” he said, adding that “the game is transparent” and would continue to play.
He used the occasion to thank the entire management of the GNL through their managing director for creating the opportunity for the Gambian people to win handsome amount of money they can use to improve their lives.
For his part, GNL official Nyawuru Komma thanked the customers for patronizing the GNL and called on all and sundry to patronize the lottery institution, which can change the economic condition of people overnight.
