The Gambia National Lottery Friday presented a cheque for D120,000 to one Madi Ceesay, the 2014 first jackpot parisportif winner, at a presentation ceremony held at the GNL headquarters.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, GNL media parisportif and consultant Malik Jones said that as they continue to provide quality services to their clients for the new season after a long break, it was good they had a winner.
He said this was a sign of encouragement towards people participating in both the parisportif and the PMU draws, adding that whenever a jackpot is gone, another one is offered.
Jones added that the jackpot helps in contributing to the economy of The Gambia as well as to poverty eradication.
GNL acting-Managing Director Mamdangen Sarr-Tambedou said they want to turn a new page with the public through the media to ensure everything goes with much more transparency for the interest of the public.
She added that they have three other jackpots in the pipeline, while urging their clients to continue playing.
Head of Internal Auditing, Sitapha Sonko, also spoke at the presentation ceremony.
