Glory Baptist women fellowship recently donated Christmas gifts including clothing to children admitted at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) and Jammeh Foundation for Peace (JFP) Hospital.

Speaking to reporters after presenting the gifts, the president of the association, Pastor Mrs Grace Benson, said the initiative started in 2007.  “The love we have in Jesus Christ makes us do this every year,” she said.

She said they follow the footsteps of Christ, who provides for the needy as they do every year and they believe that it attracts more blessing.

She said they have been donating to the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital and the RVTH maternity and children wards for the past five years.

In the near future they will be doing the same to the other hospitals in the country, she said, adding that she hopes the gifts will go a long way in helping the needy.

Pastor Benson finally thanked President Yahya Jammeh for his enormous contribution to the welfare of the needy in The Gambia.

For her part, Sohna Gai, a nurse at the children’s wards, and Fanta Secka, a senior nursing office at the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital, all thanked and commended the women fellowship for their support to the children who were unable to celebrate the Christmas with their family members.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary lactating mothers, Isatou Bah and Aminata Fadera thanked the donors for the gifts.
