As part of their efforts to support Gunjur Health Centre with valuable drugs and other health equipment, Gunjur Link Committee (GLC), in collaboration with their counterparts Marlborough Branddt Group (MBG) in the United Kingdom (UK), last Sunday 31st January 2010, embarked on a fundraising exercise in the form of a march-past by women and cultural groups, starting from Trust Agency for Rural Development Building to Gunjur TARUD.
Speaking at the exercise, Mr. Bakary Nyambi Touray said the link between Gunjur and Marlborough Brandt Group started far back in 1982, which he noted, had borne incredible fruition as residents of Gunjur have benefited from the people of Marlborough, namely the construction of a five-classroom at Gunjur Lower Basic School, orchard and carpentry workshop.
Mr. Bai Bojang, a former member of the link said the relationship between Gunjur and Marlborough would grow from strength to strength and expressed gratitude at the gesture.
