Gidda Youths FC on Friday beat Berewuleng 3-0 in the ongoing Brikama Nawetan played at theBrikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Berewuleng, who won their two opening games in the annual football championship came all out for a win against Gidda Youths, to maintain their hundred percent record in the championship and boost their chances of clinching the trophy after several years of a trophy drought but were unable to bag the vital three points.
It was Gidda which snatched the victory after notching in three brilliant goals to register a resounding win over Berewuleng, but the victory could not take them to the second round of the Brikama Nawetan and will now switch their attention to the knock-out competition.
Berewuleng are through to the second round despite their 3-0 loss to Gidda Youths, and will go back and prepare themselves well for the second round of the league and the knock-out competition, as well as keeping their title hopes alive.
Elsewhere, Sky Power drew goalless with Soccer Star. Sky Power have now secured a place in the second round as Soccer Star are out, and will now concentrate on the knock-out phase, following their early exit from the league competition.
