Gambia Football Federation (GFF) President Lamin Kabba Bajo has described Gambia’s defeat to South Africa as unfortunate and disappointing.
Bajo was though quick to add that whatever positive result we had from the game it would not take us anywhere in the team’s rebuilding process.
Notwithstanding we played home and should have fought for a better result, he went on.
Bajo said that despite the defeat something had been achieved as the coach had a programme which is, rebuilding and rebranding the team.
“I am disappointed with the result but I will not kill myself or anybody, it’s a bad result but life continues,” he said further, adding: “It’s not the best for us in our own backyard but you do not expect me to fire everybody.”
He said the country still has a game left in the qualifiers and the preparation will continue to ensure they bring pride home as well as continue the rebuilding process.
He hopes the coach will learn a lot from this defeat, he concluded.
