Mr. Salifu K Jaiteh, GFA's Honorary Vice- President recently returned from a two-day trip to Cyprus, during which he discussed the possibility of building football-relationship between the two countries.
Speaking in an interview with the Point Newspaper recently at his office, Mr. Jaiteh explained that during his trip, he was able to meet with the agent, Mr. Apostolu.
According to him, the agent visited the Gambia in 2003 and met several players when he expressed his desire to return to Banjul.
With a view to facilitating the exposure of Gambian football talents in Europe, currently the highest profile Gambian footballer in Cyprus, the former Gambia's skipper and midfielder, Jatto Ceesay, is contracted by Digenis Akritas Morphou FC.
Mr. Jaiteh said he also discussed with various parties interested in the Gambia, notably the FIFA registered players' agent, Mr. Apostolu Panagiotis, who is currently representing at least 15 players from the West African region.
