Gamtel to clash with Gunjur Zonal Team today

The FA and Super Cup champions Gamtel will rub shoulders with Gunjur Zonal Team in a friendly game scheduled for today at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.

The friendly game is part of Gamtel FC’s preparations for the semi-final game against Rangers International of Nigeria in the ongoing WAFU Club Competition to be held in Togo from 8 to 13 December 2011.

Gamtel eliminated Senegalese top-tier side Niary Tally in the first round of the tournament following their post-match penalty shootout victory, after a goalless drew in both legs.

The Gambia’s telecommunications giants progressed to the semi-final after thumping Guinean side Horoya FC 4-1 on aggregate in the third round to secure a place in the semis few months ago.

Gunjur Zonal team will use the warm-up game to prepare very well for the Gambia Football Association (GFA) Super Nawetan football tournament.
