The telecommunication boys, Gamtel have suffered yet another setback, following their 2-1 defeat in the hands of the side Interior in the Week Nineteen fixtures of the 2009-10 Gambia Football Association (GFA) premier tier at the Brikama Mini-stadium on Sunday.
Interior opened the score in the 34th minute through striker Sheikh Omar Kanteh from a close-range effort.
In the second half, Interior continued their supremacy over Gamtel by putting heavy pressure on Gamtel defence line, and as a result they extended their lead in the 53rd minute when winger Kebba Kebbeh netted the second from a spectacular long-range strike to make it 2-0.
Gamtel fought back but only managed to pull one when substitute Modou Njie Sarr scored their consolation goal in the 54th minute of the game from brilliant finish to make it 2-1.
Interior now collected 19 points from a game in hand, while Gamtel is now at 25 points.
The reigning champions Armed Forces drew 2-2 with struggling side Hawks at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium,
Armed Forces collected 24 points from nineteen games, while Bakau giant Steve Biko drew 1-1 with Western Region giant Brikama United, at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kinda.
Steve Biko now collected 25 points, while Brikama United got 20 points.
