Gamtel aim to recover in GFF 1st Division

Defending league champions Gamtel are aiming to bounce back against Banjul United in the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league after losing two games in a row. Gamtel will clash with Banjul United in the week-nineteen fixtures tomorrow, Saturday 7 May 2016, at the Banjul KG 5 Mini Stadium.

The telecommunication giants are automatically out of the league race with 23 points in eighteen league games, and will fight to recover against Banjul United after losing two games in a row against Brikama United 3-0 and 2-1 to relegation threatened Serrekunda United at the weekend.

The Banjul-based outfit are rooted bottom in the top flight with 15 points in eighteen league matches. They will stun Gamtel to defeat them and move from the red zone.

Bombada will play Gambia Armed Forces at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium. The Brikama-based outfit are one-place above relegation zone in the top flight with 17 points in eighteen league matches. They will therefore be keen to beat Gambia Armed Forces to improve their position in the league.

The Soldiers are mid-table in the top flight with 20 points in nineteen league matches, and will hunt to beat Bombada to snatch good position in the league.

Elsewhere, Steve Biko will meet Gambia Ports Authority at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Bakau giant killers are also mid-table in the top flight with 20 points in eighteen league matches. They will hunt hard to punch Gambia Ports Authority to improve their position in the league.

The ferry boys are currently topping the league with 39 points in eighteen league matches, and will brawl to thrash Steve Biko to extend their lead in the league.

On Sunday 8 May 2016, Brikama United will host Wallidan at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.The Brikama-based outfit are second spot in the top flight with 33 points in eighteen league matches six points behind league leaders Gambia Ports Authority, and they hope to thump Wallidan to close the gap.

The blue boys are two places above relegation zone with 18 points in eighteen league matches. They will vie to defeat Brikama United to improve their position in the league.

Hawks will face Serrekunda United at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium. The red devils will be expecting to bounce back after losing to city-rivals Real De Banjul 4-0 in the all-Banjul derby clash at the weekend.

The Serrekunda-based outfit are languishing second place from bottom in the top flight with 16 points in eighteen league matches, and will stand firm to blow Hawks to move away from the danger zone.

Samger will take on Real De Banjul at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

The academy boys are three places above relegation zone in the league with 19 points in eighteen league matches. They expect to bounce back after losing to league leaders Gambia Ports Authority 2-1 at the weekend to improve their position in the league.

The city-boys are third in the top flight with 31 points in eighteen league matches, and will search for a win against Samger to mount pressure on second-place Brikama United and league leaders Gambia Ports Authority.
