Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, Ousman Dukureh, head coach of Gambisara FC, expressed delight in the victory but added that they deserved to win the game as they worked for it.
They had been training very hard and with the help of God they were able to make it to the quarterfinals, he remarked.
He stated that his attacking force was his problem during the encounter, as they created so many chances but could not capitalize on any.
They have to work on their strikers before their next game to be able to carry the day during the 90-minute period, he added.
He expressed confidence that his side would make it to the final and even lift the trophy because he believed in his players.
Lamin Trawally, head coach of Diabugu Batapa FC, thanked both clubs for their clever showing, saying they used to train on the same ground.
They have taken the defeat in good faith as it is only one team that can emerge victorious at the end of the day, he added.
He as well thanked his fans and players, saying the football they played this year was far better than the previous years.
The atmosphere during the game was “excellent”, he noted, while thanking organizers of the competition.
He congratulated his opponents and wished them good luck in the remainder of the competition.
They have always had some problems in terms of selection as most of their senior players were engaged in another competition taking place in their village, he stated.
