U-20 women national team, Wednesday beat Interior 4-2 in a friendly match,
played at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum.
The
friendly match was part of the young women’s Scorpion technical preparations
ahead of their maiden women’s U-20 World Cup qualifiers away to Burkina Faso on
18January in Ouagadougou.
Catherine
Jatta gave Gambia U-20 women national team the lead in the 15th minute of the
encounter after capitalizing on Ola Buwaro’s exceptional pass to fire home the
opener.
Ola
Buwaro scored the scored for women Scorpions in the 16th minutes from a simple
tap before Interior pull one back through Fatou Njie in the 22nd minutes from
Mbassy Darboe alias Messi’s corner to reduce the score line to 2-1.
Striker
Mbassy Darboe alias Messi leveled the scores for Interior before half time
after dribbling past Gambia U-20 women
national team net-minder Matty Manga.
Substitute
Fatou Sonko netted the third and fourth for Gambia U20 women national team in
the 60th and 90th minutes respectively to secure a resounding win over
Interior.
Meanwhile,
Gambia U-20 national women team will play against Red Scorpion in another
friendly match today, at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum at 4.30pm.
