The National U-20 team (Young Scorpions) yesterday travelled to Dakar, Senegal, for an international football friendly with their Senegalese counterparts ahead of the two countries’ CAF U-20 Qualifiers.

The Gambian team and delegation, which left Banjul yesterday, will play the friendly on Sunday 26 June in Dakar.

The Young Scorpions would return to Banjul the following day Monday to continue their preps locally.

The friendly among others is part of technical preparation for the Young Scorpions forthcoming CAF U-20 first leg Qualifier against Guinea Conakry in Banjul slated for Sunday 10 July while Senegal will also use the friendly to hone the skills of her youngsters for their qualifier at home to Ghana.

The GFF appeals to the general public for their support in the successful campaign of the team in their friendly against Senegal over the coming weekend.

“The GFF further solicit your support for the team’s triumph over Guinea at their Qualifier match next month by calling on the general public to turn out in their large numbers to cheer up the Young Scorpions,” the GFF stated.
