Lamin Kabba Bajo, the president of the Gambia Football Federation, has lamented that The Gambia have not got the players to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bajo made this remarks in an exclusive interview with West Coast Radio after The Gambia’s 2-0 away defeat to Cameroon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers played at the Omni Sports Stadium in Limbe on Saturday.

Bajo said the country did not have quality players that could qualify for the continent’s biggest football showpiece.

Bajo stated that The Gambia need more quality players in order to compete and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Bajo hailed the players and the coaching staff for their efforts during the qualifiers despite failing to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup Nations.

The Gambia are yet to make their debut in the continent’s biggest football fiesta since its inception in 1957.
