The Gambia will start intensive training for the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers away to Benin next month in Porto-Novo.

The Scorpions, under the guidance of Coach Sang Ndong, is currently training with home-based players scouted from the domestic league for the continent’s biggest football fiesta qualifiers away to the fellow West Africans next month.

Coach Sang Ndong will use the next three weeks to prepare his squad to be fit and ready for their upcoming qualifiers before hosting Algeria in their second match in March 2018 in Banjul.

The Gambia failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing bottom-place in their group with only 2 points from six qualifiers.
