The campers, who left town early Sunday, comprised participants selected from among those youths who took part in the maiden national youth camp at the stadium last year.
Rosaline Secka, an official of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, described the Dakar Camp as an important exposure for Gambian youths who would meet, learn and interact with their mates from different parts of the world.
“We thank the Gambia government and all other sponsors who help in facilitating the Gambia participation,’’ Secka said on Afri-Radio sports show on Friday.
The camp is holding at the Southern suburb of the Senegalese capital called Rufisque, or Tenguege.
Only
last week more than a hundred campers successfully completed a one-week camp at
Basse, the participants of which edition shall be selected for the next
international youth camp yet to be scheduled.
