Vensian Andren, a French national, would today learn his fate after he change his plea from not guilty to guilty, before Magistrate Malafi Jarju of the Brikama Magistrates’ court, for being in possession of arms and ammunitions.
When the matter was called, defence counsel Foster told the court that since the accused person’s documents were in the possession of the police and the prosecution was not ready to produce, the accused person had no other option but to change his plea from not guilty to guilty.
In response, the police prosecutor, Sgt 2294 Lamin Jammeh, told the court that the only documents that were obtained from the accused person by the investigating officer were one black wallet, one residential card, one residential permit, one French passport and one mobile phone, all bearing the name of the accused person.
The case was then adjourned for judgment today.
