The Point has learnt through reliable security sources that four senior officers of the Gambia Armed Forces have been discharged from the military, and redeployed to the foreign service.
The redeployment of Major General Saikou Seckan, chair of the Joint Operation Centre; Brig. Gen. Lamin Bojang, the chief of Army Staff; Brig. Gen. Ebrima Bah, Inspector General of GAF and Commodore Madani Senghore, the chief of Naval Staff, is the latest move that saw officers of the military being deployed to the foreign service.
Though no reason was advanced to this paper as to the move, it would be recalled that the development is not a new thing in the military as Serign Modou Njie, former State Guard Commander and Brigadier General Yankuba Drammeh, former deputy Chief of Defence Staff, were also redeployed to the foreign service last year.
