Forestry Act Violators in Court

At least four alleged Forestry Act violators were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates'Court on a charge of felling trees without authority.

According to the particulars of the offence on or about 11 October 2008 at SibanorForestryPark, the accused persons were found illegally cutting down trees without any authority, which is contrary to the Forestry Act.

The accused persons were Famara Jammeh, Sainey Badjie, Modou Soury Njie and Bakary Sonko.

At that juncture the case was adjourned to enable the magistrate to acquaint himself with the Forestry Act.
