Despite having many League and Knock-out titles in their possession, Vietnam Border's Nawettan performances in recent years have not been satisfactory.
They suffered their poorest performers recently which eventually saw them relegated from the Nawettan. As a result, the team lost many of their top players to other Nawettan teams, amidst speculations that they cannot be able to regain the form that saw them excel; and undeniably being the power house in Bakau Nawettan. But if their performance in the recently ended qualifiers is anything to go by, Vietnam Border could be a team to beat.
They will open their campaign with a game against Five-Junction on Sunday at the Bakau Mini-Stadium, hoping to put their house in order to avoid the risk of demotion from the popular Nawettan.
The fixtures which will resume after Monday's break is expected to feature Bantankoto and Banda BI on Tuesday that is likely to be changed to KWT. But there are controversies surrounding the issue as of now after some club officials totally disagreed with the idea of changing the name.
Banda BI have being one of the most successful teams in Bakau Nawettan, following their spectacular performance that saw them win the Super Cup title last summer with an emphatic four nil victory over Jazz, thanks to goals from striker Almameh Joof.

But they still have some experience players, such as Lamin Jarju (Laus), Lang Barrow who was once a popular figure with both the Gambia National U-17 team and the first division outfit Africell, among other valuable players that have been injected into the team.
